We are seeking a skilled and dependable Cannelure Operator to join our client's production team in Danville, AR. The Cannelure Operator will play an important role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining specialized cannelure machines that form grooves on cartridge cases, bullets, or similar cylindrical components. This position requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and a strong focus on quality standards to ensure that every product meets customer and industry specifications. The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing or machine operation experience, an eye for detail, and a willingness to learn. As a Cannelure Operator, you will be responsible not only for running machines but also for inspecting parts, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met at all times. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate cannelure machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure proper groove depth, spacing, and alignment.
  • Inspect finished parts visually and with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Accurately record production data including output, scrap, and inspection results.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate larger mechanical concerns to maintenance staff.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with company quality standards.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
  • Collaborate with production team members and quality control to address issues efficiently.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing or machine operation experience.
  • Strong familiarity with precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing for long periods.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous experience in ammunition or metal part manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, MIL-STD, or other quality assurance standards.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
