Millenium Data Architect

GovCIO is hiring an experienced Millenium Data Architect with deep expertise in cloud and network engineering to support modernization efforts for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role focuses on identifying architectural migration patterns, resolving provisioning and schema challenges, and improving legacy VistA products. This position is fully remote, located in the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise in Millennium data modeling, including schema design and optimization.
  • Collaborate with data modelers to design scalable, normalized database architectures.
  • Apply deep knowledge of database theory and modeling concepts to support VA enterprise systems.
  • Lead the development of system conceptual designs and comprehensive documentation to ensure clarity, efficiency, and alignment with VA objectives.
  • Define and implement system-level verification procedures and customer acceptance test protocols to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Review and validate test plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with contractual and industry standards.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify architectural migration patterns and resolve dependencies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must have data modeling and database theory expertise
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (Python, Terraform, Ansible)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams
  • Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications
  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

Clearance Required:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Millenium Modelling
  • Experience using CDW, writing queries and familiarity with CDW data products
  • Certifications:
    • AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
    • Cisco CCNA or CCNP

Posted Pay Range: USD $150,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
