In this role, you will help define, implement, and execute strategic business objectives to expand the use of VMware cloud technologies within Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers by engaging stakeholders across the entire company and VMware's broad portfolio of cloud technologies. The team is growing and we are looking for people to help us build and scale our organization as we ensure VMware's cloud services meet the high security and compliance standards of our customers.**Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**Contribute to the development of a strategic vision to expand the use of VMware's Cloud Service Offerings (CSO) within our DoD and IC customers.o Within 30 days: Develop a deep understanding of the VMware classified program, including schedules, risks, issues, dependencies, and key stakeholders.o Within 60-90 days: Partner closely with Engineering, Product Management, Compliance, SRE, Field Sales, and Program Management to align all parties on roles, responsibilities, timeline, and priority.+ Identify and implement ways our organization can scale and accelerate.o Within 90 - 120 days: Evaluate the VMware classified program to identify administrative, logistical, technical, and resourcing risks, resolve multi-faceted conflicts, and introduce best practices to help facilitate efficiency and velocity.+ Develop a multi-year roadmap for accreditation and authorization across VMware's classified program.+ Leverage existing government relationships to identify potential sponsorship opportunities to expand VMware's classified offeringso Within 180 days: Align with Field Sales and VMware business units to derive a multi-year product roadmap based on quantitative business impact metrics to facilitate prioritization within the VMware classified program.**The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**_This position will perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and therefore any offer will be contingent upon verification of both of these requirements. A TS/SCI clearance is preferred, but not mandatory._+ Build clear, integrated master program plans (schedule, dependencies, risks, etc.) in collaboration with VMware service and stakeholder teams.+ Proactively identify risks, issues and drive their resolution+ Report on your programs to executive stakeholders. Be the trusted speaker on the state of your programs in key checkpoint reviews.+ Support cross-functional initiatives to improve/develop processes, templates, and tools to optimize how we operate. Advocate for best practices, high quality standards, and innovation with your delivery team.+ Develop a working knowledge of the operational processes and controls for relevant cloud compliance programs+ Manage vendors and any related procurement processes+ Update and maintain Confluence so stakeholders can view the state of the program at any time**What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?**You will be part of the 100+ person Security, Compliance, and Privacy Engineering (SCOPE) organization that comprises of Engineering, Compliance, Security, Site Reliability Engineers, and Program Management teams. This position will be part of the 30+ person VMware Government Services (VGS) group that focuses on compliance for US government customers. The group is distributed across several office (including Palo Alto, CA and Reston, VA) and remote locations. Our Program Management Office (PMO) is a small but growing team that works closely together to enable operational excellence within SCOPE and our stakeholder teams.
