You will also be involved in white boarding, problem solving, troubleshooting cloud native SASE service including centralized policy management, Gateways encompassing Data & Control planes and distributed edge. Working in this team would give you the opportunity to participate in the full life cycle of software development – product design, technical design, implementation, testing, and CI/CD. VMware SASE team has a very inclusive and flexible culture which will let you lead and move across pillars to expand your breadth as well.This is a full stack role with heavy focus on backend development, but you will also be responsible for front end UI design and development.**Success in the Role:** **What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**+ Within one month of employment, you should expect to ramp up on the technical stacks and set up your dev environment. Get familiar with NodeJS, MySQL, Docker, and the dev tooling and packaging toolchain we use at VMware.+ Within six months of employment, you should expect to dive into our code base and ship one security project related to system hardening and security infrastructure.+ Within a year of employment, you will have become a domain expert in the application security area. Be able to troubleshoot production issues, respond to CVEs and navigate through our codebase and owning the security infrastructure and projects for the software platform.**The Work:** **What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**Your regular activities may be modified to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments:+ Involve both backend server and infrastructure development+ You will be using NodeJs, JavaScript, MySQL & docker for backend development+ You will be using SAST and DAST scanning tools and integrate them into Jenkins and concourse pipelines+ You will need to learn or familiarize yourself with related AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, Secret management etc. as well as docker & Kubernetes+ You will be using tools like packer to package and create secure software artifacts+ Assist with debugging and verification of defects in your own and others' work+ Design and implement the security features for the Management Plane software, such as key management, PKI etc.+ Play an active role in making the software secure at scale across a variety of deployment environments and promote security best practices across teams.+ Play an active hands-on role across the entire software development life cycle, from requirements through helping to deliver your software into production and ensuring that it continues to operate as designed, and including participation in periodic on-call duty.+ Drive secure development best-practices such defence in depth, OWASP scanning as part of daily development.**What is the leadership like for this role?
