Principal, Software Engineer

Position Summary

What you'll do:

  • Modernize and support the Finance Data Factory, transforming disparate applications with disjointed designs and architectures into a cohesive, modern Platform.
  • Utilizing both Data Engineering and Software Engineering tech stacks to move from point solutions to scalable, comprehensive platforms.
  • Work with key engineering teams to define our architectural patterns, set data quality standards, drives automation, with a focus on customer delivery.

What you'll bring:

  • Solid experience in Google Cloud Platform, Airflow, PySpark data technology stacks.
  • Extensive experience in Java, Python, ML, microservices and Application Architecture.
  • SQL and no-SQL Databases such as Big Query, Cosmos, Cassandra, and Postgres.
  • Demonstrated experience with Semantic Data Modeling.
  • Experience with Kafka or other high volume, low latency messaging infrastructure.
  • Deep experience with public cloud platforms and cloud native services.
  • Ability to perform in a team environment and ready to take ownership.
  • True passion for technology, love to continuously learn and strive for excellence.
  • Great communication/collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Mobile App Development and/or AI LLM a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 7 years experience in software engineering or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of accessibility best practices and join us as we continue to create accessible products and services following Walmarts accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
