Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Lead to oversee and manage the financial operations of our logistics business. This role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost control, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial management within logistics, supply chain, or transportation industries.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis activities.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide insights into variances against budget.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital requirements.
  • Ensure proper financial controls are in place to safeguard company assets.

Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee all general accounting functions, including AP/AR, GL, fixed assets, and payroll.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax filings, and audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

Cost & Operational Analysis:

  • Analyze costs associated with warehousing, transport, freight forwarding, and delivery operations.
  • Support pricing strategy and margin analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals.
  • Collaborate with other departments (Operations, Sales, HR, etc.) to support business objectives.
  • Partner with logistics managers to track and manage key financial KPIs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA/CA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 58 years of experience in finance/accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Experience in the logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Hands-on attitude with attention to detail.
  • Experience implementing or improving finance processes or systems.
  • Understanding of logistics costing (fleet management, fuel costs, 3PL invoicing, etc.).
