GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The role of IT QA Automation Engineer focuses on automation test scripting, specifically for APIs. This position is crucial in ensuring the quality and reliability of our banking applications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate with the AGILE team to understand application features and requirements. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
2. Develop and maintain automated test scripts for API testing with languages such as JavaScript. This duty is performed daily, about 50% of the time.
3. Execute and analyze test results to identify and report defects. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
4. Utilize testing tools to validate API functionality such as Postman or Cypress. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
5. Continuously improve test automation frameworks and processes. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
6. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
7. Completes required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
8. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical degree required in such disciplines as Computer Engineering, CPA, etc., plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. ability to read, analyze, and understand general business/company related articles and professional journals; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry, and trigonometry.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
