Lafayette Federal Credit Union (LFCU) is currently seeking Operations Support Specialist for our Headquarters location. You will be joining a dynamic team focused on providing credit union members with an unparalleled service experience. As an Operations Support Specialist you will be empowered to do whats right for the member because you have a passion for helping others succeed. You must possess proven customer service skills, including strong verbal and written communication. As an Operations Support Specialist you will be working closely with your our Operations Manager to open new membership accounts referred by our Consumer Lending team and having follow up conversations with our new members to explain their membership and cross-sell them on additional credit union products and services.

**The Operations Support Specialist will be responsible for:**

* Opening new member accounts and providing general information to new members

* Cross-selling Credit Union products and services to new members

* Verifying eligibility and documentation for new member accounts

* Reviewing new accounts for accuracy and proper setup

* Processing new account openings in tandem with the Indirect Lending team as well as recommending process improvements

* Establishing new HOFLC members, obtaining data and reports, and collecting HOFLC deposits

* Some other duties as assigned

You will be building and maintaining member relationships and promoting credit union products and services. You must be able to process account transaction requests, work to resolve member inquiries in a timely manner and have full accountability of new member requests from inception to resolution. You must be willing and able to do outreach to the members on the behalf of the credit union.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

* A positive credit standing

Experience

* Six months to two years of similar or related experience

* A high school education or GED.

Technical Skills:

* Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word

Interpersonal Skills:

* Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

* Strong business development and/or sales skills.

* Good communication skills, both verbal and written

Physical Requirements:

* This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets.

* This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Work Environment:

* This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.
